National Olympiad for schoolchildren "Please shine!" about road safety took place in Ukraine. As part of the competition, students from more than a hundred schools recorded creative videos about the importance of using reflective elements in the dark and posted them on social networks. In total, more than 170 videos and more than 100 schools took part in the competition, which was launched by OKKO. The aim of the project is to develop the culture of wearing reflectors among young people.

Victoriia Teperyk (Rivne), Dariia Radko (Vyshgorod) and Diana Rusyn (Lviv) are winners of the national Olympiad "Please shine!". Two winners were chosen by the jury and one by the number of likes on social networks. The children will receive prizes - iPhone 11, and the schools they represented - sets of reflectors.

"I like that the Olympiad combined educational and creative tasks. Children were able to show their creative skills in creating videos and at the same time convey an important message - reflectors save lives. It is necessary to teach the culture of wearing flickers, vests and other reflectors in the dark from childhood so that it becomes a normal daily habit. "- emphasizes one of the participants of the competition jury of the Olympiad, the founder of the electric car blog AutoGeek Evhenii Mudzhyri.

All videos of the Olympiad participants can be viewed under the hashtag #pleaseshine on social networks Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

"We understood that forming a habit of using reflectors in the dark is a very difficult task. That's why we turned to the children's audience for support and it worked very well. Throughout the month, we watched how modern it is to talk about road safety and encourage friends and classmates to wear reflectors. This is how a road safety culture is formed, - comments Yaroslava Poliakova, the Head of OKKO's corporate communications department. In addition to schoolchildren, the project «Please, shine!" was supported by educators and parents from all over Ukraine. The students who took part in the national Olympiad became real heroes for their schools because their creative videos were seen all over the country. "

It will be recalled that on November 19, 2020, thanks to the work of activists and social projects on road safety in the dark, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine obliged pedestrians to use reflective elements.

"Please, shine!"  - OKKO’s initiative, which is implemented within the annual project "Please, live! Road safety”. The start of this year's stage took place on October 22.   The laser projection was shown on the building of the National Library named after V. I. Vernadsky - a social video about the importance of using reflectors on the road in the dark.
